Calling all Brewers and Attendees!

Friday, April 16th, 2010 | Author by BrewMaster

Calling all brewers! Reminder: Chill! I’m putting my brew in the fridge right now so it’s nice and cold.

Calling all attendees! If you have a canopy that’s easy to set up and take down please bring it. Yahoo weather is showing 91 degrees and sunny tomorrow.

Calling all Chili cookers! Please bring an extension cord cor power strip if you have an extra so we can make sure that all chili’s are plugged in and stay warm. (Not that 91 degrees isn’t warm enough!)

Thanks!!

The 2010 7th Annual Brewfest & Chili Cook-Off

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 | Author by BrewMaster

It’s  time for the 2010 7th Annual Brewfest & Chili Cook-off!!

We wait all year for this to come and it’s finally around the corner. There’s still a limited time left to brew so get going!! If you haven’t already registered and you are brewing, chili cooking or grape mashing, don’t forget to register. You can use the link on the side navigation. For those of you that are just attending this event for the first time, you’re in for a treat!

With all the fun, there are some things to remember.

  • If you are brewing, you are responsible to bottle/keg your brew. This is a given, but sometimes you just don’t know!
  • If you have beer-a-phernalia (or chili-phernalia) like shirts, cups or anything else to promote your brew, bring it…everyone loves free stuff and it’s a good way to win votes!
  • If you are a chili cooker, please bring your chili in a crock pot with a serving spoon and any toppings or sides (cheese, sour cream, rice, noodles, biscuits, etc.)
  • If you’re doing wine, that’s awesome! I’ve tried for 2 years to get that going and it never worked…partially probably because I, myself, haven’t even had a chance to make wine!!
  • For those just attending…come, hang out, enjoy, VOTE! This isn’t a professional contest, though some of the brewers take the smack talk a bit too far…ahem! :) But really, it’s a good time to come hang out, bring the family and enjoy the day with friends.

And we love donations, so if you have extra power strips, table cloths, cups, spoons, napkins, cups you’d like to bring to help out the cause (since every year we have to buy this stuff), please do.

I also want to add a special thanks to everyone involved. Norton ROCKS! and he’s revamping the voting system. All the brewers who put blood, sweat, tears and whatever else into their beers. Josh, for holding it at his house this year (and to him and Karla for having to clean up the mess afterwards). And everyone else, who year after year, really make this something awesome. Thanks everyone!!

So with that, Happy Brewing-Grape Mashing-Chili Cooking to all!
